📈  Grounding

Grounding has been exploding over the last 5 years.

Grounding (also called Earthing) is dead simple.

It means you’re making direct contact with the Earth's surface to connect your body to its “natural electrical charge”

Sounds… pretty woo woo.

But, despite my skepticism, there’s actually some evidence that shows it reduces inflammation, better sleep, and lower stress.

So… what’s the business opportunity here?

Well it turns out you don’t need to exactly touch the ground with bare feet to get the benefits.

Simply making contact with the earths surface works. Good news for you, there are sellable products here:

Grounding Blankets, Floor Mats, Desktop Mats.

All of these products are woven with a conductive material, like carbon or silver, that transfers electrons from the Earth to the body when plugged in (we are entrepreneurs, not scientists, do your own research).

Before you laugh, this Amazon Listing of grounding sheets is estimated to have 6,900 sales/mo @ $70 brings in $6M/yr according to Jungle Scout… this is a massive industry.

And this grounding mat sells an estimated ~195,480 units/year at $30/piece is over $5.8M annually!

ASL Job Boards 🏃‍♂️

Have you ever been to a conference and noticed this?

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires event organizers to staff translators, so people with disabilities can fully take part in conferences and public events.

The main player in this space is Acolad which is an agency that staffs interpreters.

And there are a few public services like RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf)

But… can you niche down with a database/job board that serves only live events?

And build a digital product with a 10x better UI instead of an agency?

I think so. This can be a great side-hustle business.

Pair a database with better SEO & some Business Development and you have a business.

Napkin Math 📝

2,000 conferences as customers

Charge 20% fee for any business you generate for interpreted (Assumes a $500 fee)

$200k/year business

📸  Photo Booth Business

When I was a kid, my dad bought a carwash.

4 tunnels with leaky pipes right off the highway self service bay carwash.

It wasn’t a sexy big car wash. But every week he’d bring home a 5 gallon bucket of quarters.

This is your bucket of quarters business.

Will it make you rich? Probably not.

But could it add $100,000/year to your brick & mortar business? Absolutely.

And if you’re thinking of this business model is to pay bars in a city to place a photo booth there.

Assuming you can clear ~$9,000/month:

$9/shoot…

60 shoots on Friday
60 shoots on Saturday
120 shoots Sunday-Thursday
$112,320/year

What busy bar wouldn’t want an extra $1,000/mo profit and a better experience?

And you keep the rest of the economics.

The playbook is sell the bar or restaurant into a 12-month “lease” before you buy the equipment, since it can go up to $42,000:

The photo booth rental business also looks great if you want to get into the event space:

Just take a look at Majestic Photo Booth which charges $2,500 for 4 hours at coorporate events, weddings, parties & more.

That’s a wrap!

✌️ See you next week
